We went into NYC today to follow-up with
Dr. LaQuaglia, Anthony's surgeon. He was very happy with Anthony's
progress, and filled us in a little more on the surgery. He said the
mass was basically gone, with just a very small core. The margins
around the area looked clean, and the pathology showed nothing there.
He said he was very happy with the surgery, and is very optimistic about
cure. Anthony wasn't too happy when Dr. LaQuaglia ripped off the
bandages, but Anthony gave him a hug before he left. While we were waiting to get a chest X-ray, we met a former PNET patient getting her check-up. She was diagnosed 3 years ago and is doing fine. She is now in nursing school. It was great to meet a survivor and see how well she is doing. After the visit to MSKCC, we went to the Central Park zoo with Emily, Anthony, and Sarah. They all had a great time. It really is a very nice zoo, I would recommend it to anyone who is on the upper east side with some time to kill. |
