| Since I last wrote, Anthony came out of the hospital on Sunday, July 6 after getting over his tongue sores. He went back in on Tuesday, July 8 for his fourth chemo cycle. He is basically back to eating normally, but he says everything tastes funny. We took him to the boardwalk in Seaside Park on Monday afternoon to have some fun for one day at least. He ate some Mozarella sticks, pasta, and ice cream. We all played Skee-Ball and some other games. He enjoyed himself and had a good time. He would sometimes complain about his stomach hurting, but I think it was just because he did not have solid food (or any food) for 10 days prior. We just scheduled his surgery for Tuesday, August 5th at Memorial Sloan Kettering. They have a direct donor program, so any blood donated in his name will go directly to him. He will probably need both whole blood and platelets. I will find out if people can donate at Robert Wood Johnson and have it sent over, or if they must go into Manhattan. I'll post something on the main page when I find out. |
