Chemo #7 down, 7 more to go! We're halfway there! This treatment was uneventful. We were in and out in 24 hours, so there isn't much to say. The nurses (especially Lisa) were really great this time. Lisa got the chemo started right away, kept everything on-time, and got us out of there early. Thanks Lisa (and Donna, too). At this halfway point, I thought I would report on how Anthony is doing aside from the medical stuff. He has been going to pre-school (unless he is in the hospital) and has really been enjoying it. He seems to be warming up to everyone in the hospital finally. Which means they get to see the real Anthony (heaven help them). He goes to "school" while he is in the hospital, one-on-one with one of the two staff teachers (Anita and Susan). I had to drag him (literally) kicking and screaming the first time, but he readily goes now. He even wanted to take a walk outside the unit with one of the volunteers, Ira, today. He basically behaves as if nothing is happening. Unless he is nauseous, which is not too often, you wouldn't even know he was a cancer patient. I guess the lack of hair might give it away, though. |
